Risk of Static Electricity in Explosive Atmospheres
Combustible dust can pose serious risks in several industries. It is crucial to implement measures to mitigate the risk of explosions.
The team witnessed first hand, during a live demo (in a controlled environment), the dangers that static electricity poses in explosive atmospheres.
The below video shows the result of an explosion caused by static. The fuel for this explosion, you ask? 1 teaspoon of sugar! Knowledge of the risks associated with dust atmospheres is poor in comparison to gas atmospheres.
