OVAL GEAR TYPE

Sika oval gear flow meters are displacement-type volume meters specified to transport defined incremental volumes in individual measuring chambers. The measuring element consists of two high precision toothed oval gears, which are driven by the flow of the medium and mesh with each other. In this way, a defined volume is transported for each rotation of the pair of Sika oval gears. The number of rotations is a measure of the amount of fluid that has passed through the meter. The rotations are detected by a sensor element.

Sika variable flow meters are also available.

Oval gear flow meters – threaded version

Oval gear flow meters type Sika VO with tread connection are available with threaded process connection G¼, G½, G¾, G 1 or G 2 (female thread). The meter housing is made from stainless steel or aluminium. Type Sika VO…VA flow sensors are available as high temperature versions up to 125 °C.

Oval gear flow meters type Sika VO with flange connection are available with process connection according to DIN 2633 in sizes DN 15, DN 25 and DN 50. The meter housing is made from stainless steel or aluminium. Type Sika VO…VA flow sensors are available as high temperature version up to 125 °C.

Displays for oval gear flow meters are mounted on sensors type Typ VO and indicate the actual flow rate. Three different display models are available. Up to two VO sensors can be connected to display 2 and 3 and are configurable for differential measurement.

Flow switches utilising switchless design for liquid flow control are suitable for process connections with diverse pipe tees (inline pipe diameters DN50-DN150 and pressure rating PN25) and optional threads for direct installation (insertion). Including potable water flow switches for detecting tap water. Push-in or electrical connection type flow switches in brass or stainless steel.

Flow switches are available also for monitoring air flows (-10 to 85°C medium temperatures) with IP65 protection class to EN60730-1 (Class 1). SIKA VHX flow switches are ignition hazard assessed to DIN EN 60079-11* for use in potentially hazardous area Zone 1 and Zone 2 – with no potential ignition sources they are suitable for hazardous area flow control applications.
