Thermon Steam Heat Tracing provides freeze protection and high temperature process maintenance for all industrial pipework, diameters, sizes and routes. Thermon heat transfer compounds and cements increase the thermal efficiency of conventional steam tracers to 100%.

  • Thermon T-3 Water Based Heat Transfer Compound/Cement (700°F / 371°C)
  • Thermon T-85 Epoxy Based Heat Transfer Compound/Cement (325°F / 375°F)

A single tracer system using Thermon heat transfer compound has the equivalent heating performance of three to five air convection (bare) tracers.

Steam tracing is heat tracing performed by circulating steam around pipes to provide process heating and typically installed on stagnant pipework sections and branch connections from parallel heat exchangers, pumps or bypasses.

Trace heating systems are an essential component of process plant temperature maintenance – heating cables ensure optimum pipework and pumping viscosity is maintained preventing fluid solidification and providing heating reliability with low operating costs.

Thermon SafeTrace BTS is a metallic tracer tube covered with a special high temperature polymer jacket providing personnel burn protection without sacrificing thermal performance of the heating cable when compared to bare metal tube tracers installed on a pipe. SafeTrace BTS tracers utilise a safety yellow identification cable outer jacket to signify materials inherently dangerous such as steam per ASME/ ANSI A13.1-1996. Thermon BTS heating cable  is supplied in long length coils and may be installed anywhere bare tracing is specified.

  • Pipe Temperature Range: 38°C to 121°C (100°F to 250°F)

Thermon SafeTrace SLS-IT is a metallic tracer tube covered with composite materials that lower thermal conductance to reduce heat output and temperature. Thermon SafeTrace provides a reduced yet predictable heat output along a traced pipe while preventing hot spots and overheating of the cables. Thermon SLS-IT cables replace bare metallic tracers that waste energy and stress pipe works by raising pipe temperatures to higher than required. SafeTrace SLS-IT tracers utilise a safety yellow identification cable outer jacket to signify materials inherently dangerous such as steam per ASME/ANSI A13.1-1996.

All SafeTrace IT tracers also comply with ASTM Std C-1055, which requires that human skin temperature be less than 136.4°F (58°C) when in contact with a hot surface for five seconds.

Thermon SafeTrace SLS-IT is supplied in long length coils and may be run continuously from the steam supply manifold, along the pipe and to the condensate return manifold.

Thermon SafeTrace DLS-IT is a metallic tracer tube covered with composite materials that lower thermal conductance to reduce heat output and temperature. SafeTrace provides a reduced yet predictable heat output along a traced pipe while preventing hot spots and overheating – replaces bare metallic tracers that waste energy and stress pipe works by raising pipe temperatures much higher than desired. SafeTrace DLS-IT tracers utilize a safety yellow identification jacket to signify materials inherently dangerous such as steam per ASME/ANSI A13.1-1996. All SafeTrace IT heat tracers also comply with ASTM Std C-1055, which requires that human skin temperature be less than 136.4°F (58°C) when in contact with hot surfaces for five seconds.
