Thermon TEK heat tracing cables provide process temperature maintenance and frost protection where circuit lengths exceed the limitations of parallel resistance heating cables up to 101° Celsius – with IECEx and ATEX Certification Thermon TEK trace heating cables are suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.

TEK series are long line resistance, constant wattage, heating cables which can be used where circuit lengths exceed the limitations of parallel resistance heating cables.

Circuit lengths up to 3,658 m can be energised from a single power supply point. The series circuitry of Thermon TEK heat tracing cables provides a consistent watt-per foot power output along the whole length of the cable.

TEK cables are certified for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas and in potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous areas in accordance with the ATEX Directive and the IEC Ex Scheme.

TERMINATIONS AND SPLICES

Prior to connection to power, Thermon TEK heating cables should be terminated using the Terminator ZP-M or with a certified nonheating “cold lead” and a “hot-end” termination. To facilitate ease of installation, in-line splices may also be required. These connections/terminations are available as factory fabricated assemblies or as field fabricated kits.
