Pepperl Fuchs ASM control stations with Ex d Increased Safety explosion protection are comprised of three flameproof enclosures manufactured from cast iron and suitable for use in hazardous area locations, including Zone 1/Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 21/Zone 22 (dust).
Pepperl Fuchs ASM Ex d control stations are designed to meet the users exact specifications. Typical applications include terminal junction boxes, control junction boxes and engineered solutions.
Many safe area components of the ASM control stations can be installed inside the enclosures.

A flameproof Ex d control unit is explosion protected by an enclosure which prevents the ignition of potentially explosive gases in hazardous area Zones 1 and Zone 2. The explosion protection concept of Ex d is to prevent the propagation of an internal explosion to the surrounding explosive atmosphere, and protecting the internal components from the environment, humidity, dirt, dust or water.
