Motor starters suitable for hazardous area Ex d and Ex e motors installed in Zone 1 & Zone 2 (Gas) and Zone 21 & Zone 22 (Dust) are available with various enclosure materials including cast iron, aluminium or stainless steel – Direct On Line starters up to 75kW and Star Delta starters up to 30kW.
Explosion Proof
The DOL range of motor starters and DOLSD range of motor starters with switch disconnectors are safely protected in flameproof enclosures suitable for Ex e motors and are available with various contactor ratings and coil voltages.
The DOL and DOLSD ranges of explosion proof motor starters are designed for safe operation of machinery and drives in gas (Zone 1 & Zone 2) or dust (Zone 21 & Zone 22) explosive atmospheres.
Flameproof motor starters provide hazardous area power switching with explosion protection. Pepperl+Fuchs motor starters enable the safe operation of hazardous area motors up to 75kW.
Direct On Line motor starters feature 3 phase 50/60 Hz contactors with push button operators and are fitted with standard overload relays according to contactor ratings as well as thermal overload protection.
Pepperl+Fuchs motor starters are equipped with an additional rotary switch to enable safe disconnection of the electrical circuit in hazardous area locations – flameproof Star Delta Starters are available from 11kW to 15kW.
Flameproof motor starters are hazardous area certified for both gas and dust explosive areas according to ATEX, IECEx, and GOST-R.
Standard coil voltages are 240V and 415V while other coil voltage and overload ranges are available on request. Ambient temperatures range from -40 °C to +50 °C, with an ingress protection of IP66.
