Abtech Enclosures & Junction Boxes Zone 1 & Zone 2 Hazardous Areas (ATEX IECEx)
Electrical Enclosures & Junction Boxes
High Voltage & Hazardous Area Enclosures & Junction Boxes
Abtech electrical enclosures and junction boxes are certified by ATEX for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas – the range includes GRP, stainless steel and aluminium high voltage enclosures for 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV and 33kV networks.
The electrical enclosures are used for high voltage cable connections, terminations and jointing – suitable for both industrial and hazardous area applications.
The range of ATEX Enclosures offers flexibility in the product to accommodate individual requirements – each electrical enclosure is robust and durable to withstand usage in the harshest conditions globally.
The full range of steel, aluminium and GRP enclosures are suitable for a wide range of industrial and OEM applications and can be customised to individual requirements. This includes machining, painting, silk screen printing and electro-polishing.
Abtech hazardous area electrical enclosures are specified extensively throughout the oil and gas, offshore/marine, petrochemical, mining and rail.
Abtech Enclosures – SX Stainless Steel
Hazardous Area Electrical Enclosures
Abtech SX ATEX hazardous area stainless steel enclosures are certified for used within Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. The SX range is made up of 14 varying sizes of electrical enclosure and can be supplied with removable cable gland plates on any of the enclosures four sides. The enclosures are supplied with earthing by means of an internal/external stud. Alternatively, earthing studs can be fitted to the door and gland plates. When fitted with a standard neoprene gasket, the elecrical enclosure is suitable for ambient temperatures of -40°C to + 80°C.

Zone 1 & zone 2 hAZARDOUS AREA ATEX CERTIFIED
Abtech SX enclosures are manufactured in 316 stainless steel or mild steel and are available in 14 sizes and are supplied in standard depths of 140, 200 or 300mm. The range was designed initially to meet the tough conditions of the North Sea and can achieve IP66 and IP67 ingress protection – for depths of up to 120ft, IP68 electrical enclosures are also available.
In addition, the Abtech SX range has been tested to and passed the Shell/ERA deluge test which was devised to adequately test enclosures and electrical equipment which is routinely subjected to ships deck conditions or fire deluge systems.
Hazardous Area Junction Boxes
Abtech SX Electrical Enclosure – High Voltage & Hazardous Area
Abtech stainless steel hazardous area junction boxes are suitable for fire resistant hazardous area applications and meets the requirements of the IEC 331 international standard. Hazardous area enclosures include submersible, fire rated, high voltage and deluge proof versions.
Abtech ZAG range is constructed from aluminium and is available in 19 different sizes that are each precision die cast using Al Si 12 grade (LM24) aluminum alloy as this is generally considered the most suitable grade of aluminium to provide corrosion resistance in atmospheres that have a high salt content.
The ZAG range of hazardous area junction boxes also has excellent ingress protection qualities with the enclosure passed to IP65/66/67.
There are also a number of additional optional protection methods that can be applied toe the ZAG junction boxes. These are alochrome, anodising and epoxy polyester painting with a 316 grade stainless steel lid.
Abtech ZAG junction boxes – range of features L-R: Unpainted (raw) finish, Earth Stud, Allen Head fixing screws, Tamper-proof screws, External hinges, Component mounting plate, External mounting feet, Internal earthing bar, DIN standard mounting rail.
