Underground Coal Mining

Ecom i.roc Ci70 is a handheld ATEX certified hazardous area computer suitable for enabling mobile communications in underground coal mines – utilising Ecom Instruments technology enabling voice, data and video communication by wireless LAN camera. Voice communication is achieved using Ecom i.roc and a Bluetooth headset. Data communication and exchange is achieved using ruggedised Ecom i.roc and developed software for the handheld computer – above ground personnel can send requested data, such as technical documents, to access points to miners located underground in hazardous area locations.
