Enclosures with ATEX Certification

Thorne & Derrick provide both standard and customer designed ATEX Enclosures – this includes enclosures with ATEX Certification suitable for flammable gas (Zone 1/2) and combustible dust (Zone 21/22) potentially explosive atmospheres manufactured from stainless steel, GRP or aluminium. The enclosures are classified for submersible, flameproof and explosion proof applications in onshore and offshore locations – from extensive stock we can build and populate enclosures for cost-effective electrical and instrumentation connections in Ex environments.

There is a demand for larger floor standing ATEX enclosures – this is an extension of rapid software design as Thorne & Derrick have the ability to scale up the front build process to accommodate these much larger enclosures.

The largest component approved ATEX enclosure currently stands at 2000mm(h)x1200(w)x800(d) – the build quality and material gauge are of sufficient rigidity and durability to withstand the same environmental and physical impact that the smaller ATEX enclosures must endure.

Enclosures with ATEX Certification are available in stainless steel, GRP and aluminium with various explosion protection concepts including Increased Safety (Ex e), Explosion Proof (Ex d) and Intrinsic Safety (Ex i) – all are ATEX and IECEx compliant and available with global certifications including EAC (TR CU), InMetro and North American approvals for the USA, Class 1 Div 2 and Canada, Class 1 Zone 2.
