The range of sensor technology manufactured by SICK reliably count, sort, inspect, measure, specify, recognise and verify positions of shapes and product positions within a wide range of manufacturing processes – this includes hazardous area level sensors with ATEX certification for safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres, Zone 1 & Zone 2.

Contrast sensors can recognise the difference in material, colour and brightness where luminescence sensors will recognise fluorescent markings, labels, markings, threads and adhesives. In addition, colour sensors will identify and differentiate objects by colour.

The company continues to develop innovative point-of-operation devices and advanced functions of their safety control devices include fixed, floating and multiple point floating Presence Sensing Device Initiation (PSDI) and multiple configurable muting controls.
