PRD Series 16, 32, 80 and 125 Amp Flameproof Plugs and Sockets manufactured by Appleton ATX are designed for hazardous areas where weatherproof and robust equipment is required. These flameproof plugs and sockets are certified for hazardous areas Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. The PRD series of plug and socket assemblies provides safe, reliable power for portable or stationary electrical equipment such as lighting and heating systems, conveyors, motor starters, air-conditioning appliances, compressors and pumps.

The plugs and sockets with ATEX Certification can be used with both onshore and offshore portable and stationery electrical equipment in hazardous areas with corrosive atmospheres and those classed as Zone 1 and 2 and Zone 21 and 22 installations.

• Interlocking mechanical device which prevents the switch from closing until the plug is fully inserted into the wall socket or being removed until the switch is off
• Socket outlet supplied with a load break isolating switch
• Switch handle can be padlocked
• 1 cable entry via supplied cable gland diameter 18 to 28 mm (0.71 to 1.1 in)
• Connection on 16 mm² (0.025 in²) maximum terminals
