UPR Series 16 & 32 Amp Plugs and Sockets manufactured by Appleton ATX are compact, lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant. The plugs and sockets can be used with both onshore and offshore portable and stationery electrical equipment in hazardous areas with corrosive atmospheres and those classed as Zone 1 and 2 and Zone 21 and 22 installations.

The Appleton ATX UPR Series plug and socket system, certified and approved according to ATEX, is designed with a mechanical interlock to insure disengagement cannot occur while energized in hazardous area locations and workplaces.
UPR plugs feature a large ON/OFF actuator on the receptacle which gives a clear, visible indication of the receptacle status for maximum hazardous area protection. The explosion proof LV socket can be locked in either 0 (Off) and 1 (On) position and is keyed to accept Appleton ATX UPR plugs of the proper voltage.
The same plug used in hazardous locations, including Zone 1 and Zone 2, can also be safely used with interlocking non-hazardous IEC 60309-2 sockets. Different voltages are color coded for easy identification.
