- Reduces loading time
- Increases efficiency by optimizing belt capacity
- Simple installation
- Low maintenance costs
- Offers savings through minimized energy consumption
SICK Bulkscan LMS511 Flow Measurement Sensors uses time-of-flight laser technology to provide non-contact volume flow measurements on conveyor belts. The Bulkscan LMS511 can operate in any weather conditions and is suitable for any kind of bulk material allowing the flow sensor to generate reliable volume flow readings thanks to the lasers time of flight and the belt speed.
The integrated bulk materials center-of-gravity calculator will detect uneven loading and avoid excessive belt wear.
The rugged industrial housing is ideal for extreme operating conditions. An integrated heater also ensures safe operation at low ambient temperatures. Discrete signals as well as Ethernet TCP/IP can be used to connect the measuring system to a host communication system.

Flow Measurement SENSOR APPLICATIONS
SICK Bulkscan LMS511 Flow Measurement Sensors enable flow measurement in industrial applications.
- Volume flow monitoring for raw materials in the food industry
- Monitoring transport systems for conveying coal or ore
- Loading systems and bagging equipment
- Measuring the ash produced in power stations
- Checking the loading of transport such as lorries, ships, railway trucks
- Measuring volume and mass in gravel plants and other operations in the construction industry
Conveyor belt supervision and crusher monitoring
Overheating is common in welding guns so a constant supply of cooling water is required to stop this. The throughput must be monitored in this context.
The Bulkscan LMS511 flow sensor measures accurately without any moving parts and it’s rugged design allows for use in tough environments. Integrated loading center of gravity detection enables maximum transport performance and the detection of one-sided loads and one-sided conveyor belt loads.
