The Appleton Areamaster Hazardous Area Floodlight

Appleton Areamaster is a Zone 1 LED floodlight that sets the standard for reliability and performance of explosion proof lighting. The LED floodlight is simple to install and easy to work with in hazardous area and potentially explosive atmospheres.

Prior to the Appleton Areamaster the end user did not have a high lumen Zone 1 hazardous area lighting option for LED floodlighting. The only floodlights available were heavy, difficult to wire and install and unable to provide a 400W HID equivalency.

Now with the development of the Areamaster by Appleton ATX everything has changed. Lightweight in design weighing 10.5kg (23lbs) and available with an easier to wire front compartment with captive screws Trunnion mounts.

The Zone 1 LED floodlight provides a wide range of lumen output options 9,000- 36,000 equivalent to a 175W and 1500W HID floodlights respectively.

Ex emb Encapsulation for Zone 1

The Appleton Areamaster innovative explosion proof lighting solutions include being able to use the same copper free metallic housing as it’s Zone 2 counterpart by employing encapsulation on the LED driver and arrays for Zone 1 protection method.

This model also removes the need for heavy duty flameproof housing as it typically requires frequent maintenance to maintain the flame path. This accounts for a reduction of 50% in weight compared to the ex d flameproof options and offering virtually the same light distribution and brightness as the Appleton Areamaster Zone 2.

Zone 1 LED Floodlights can now be sleek lightweight whilst still delivering high performance and accuracy.
