Heatfast’s HBD Base Drum Heater is a robust, industrial-grade drum heating solution engineered for use in the most arduous working environments. The Heatfast HBD Base Drum Heater is a heavy-duty electric drum heater designed to deliver controlled, uniform heat directly into the base of standard industrial metal drums. Suitable for 200–210 litre drums, the HBD is particularly effective where products must be melted, maintained at temperature or have their viscosity reduced, including soaps, fats, waxes, varnishes and oil-based liquids commonly used in industrial processes.
Unlike side-mounted drum heating jackets, the HBD operates as a base drum heating solution, allowing flush contact between the heated platen and the underside of the drum. Heat is generated by a silicone insulated etched foil heating element bonded beneath the platen and supported by 50mm of high-density Rockwool insulation, ensuring efficient heat transfer into the product while minimising heat loss to the floor. This design delivers even, thermally stable heating in environments where reliability and durability are essential.
Constructed from 2mm thick steel and protected with a high-temperature resistant coating, the HBD Base Drum Heater is built for use in industrial locations such as warehouses, chemical handling areas and construction sites. Each unit is fitted with an adjustable 0–150°C thermostat, neon power and load indicators, and a 2-metre flexible armoured power cable, providing a safe, robust and long-lasting drum heating solution that can also be used in conjunction with additional drum heaters to enhance overall heating performance.
