VEGA EL 4 conductive level switch is a multiple rod electrode that provides level measurement for conductive liquids.

EL 4 level switch is best suited for applications such as overfill and dry run protection in conjunction with VEGATOR 256C or VEGATOR 632 signal conditioning instruments.

The universal level switch offers high flexibility thanks to the shortenable probe, low maintenance costs through robust design and reduced stock-keeping through exchangeable rod probes.

FunctioN

The instruments are used for level detection in conductive liquids. A VEGATOR 256 C or 632 is required for operation of the conductive probe. When the probe is immersed, a slight alternating current flows and is detected, evaluated and converted into a switching command by the signal conditioning instrument. The switching point is determined via the mounting position or the length of the respective probe.

Materials

The wetted parts of the instrument are made of stainless steel and the probe insulation is made of PTFE.

Housings

The level switch housing is made of plastic (IP66) or aluminum (IP66/IP67)

ELECTRONICS

The probe is operated with external processing. The connected signal conditioning instrument powers the probe and provides a switching signal.

EL level switches provide level measurement for conductive liquids and are used in all many applications such as overflow protection, pump control or dry run protection.  A small alternating current begins to flow when the electrodes of the conductive level switch come in to contact with a conductive fluid.
