VEGA VEGACAP 64 capacitive level switch provides level measurement for adhesive liquids and light-weight bulk solids that are non abrasive.

VEGACAP 64 level switch features a fully insulated probe that offers high flexibility and enables the level switch to be used with viscous and adhesive products.

The proven mechanical construction offers long lifespan and minimum maintenance requirements.  Measurements cover the complete probe length ensures the vessel is used to the maximum.

The VEGACAP 64 is a point level sensor for universal use in conductive liquids.

FunctioN

The two electrodes of the capacitor are formed from the sensor and vessel.  A capacitance change caused by a level change is evaluated by the integrated electronics and converted into a switching signal. The capacitive measuring principle doesn’t have any specific requirements with regards to installation and mounting.

Materials

The wetted parts of the instrument are made of stainless steel and the probe insulation of PTFE.

Housings

The level switch housings are available in plastic, stainless steel or aluminium. They are available with protection ratings up to IP 67.

ELECTRONICS

VEGA switches are available in different electronics versions. Apart from the versions with transistor output, contactless electronic switch and relay output, a two-wire version for connection to a signal conditioning instrument is available.

VEGACAP level switches provide level measurement for bulk solids and liquids as the sensor and vessel form the two electrodes of a capacitor. In capacitive limit level measurement any capacitance change as a result of a change in level is converted into a switching signal. The shortenable cable and rod options makes the level switches suitable for almost any application such as overfill/dry run protection and oil/water or foam detection.
