Lfh ATEX Heater Successfully Trialed At MOD Facility

Working in partnership with leading hire company ESS VPPLC , Thorne & Derrick were invited to an MOD facility to conduct a demonstration and trial of the LFH ATEX certified heater.

The client reached out to T&D as they required a temporary ATEX heating solution to help improve the curing times of paint coatings. They were experiencing some issues with their current heaters on site which were found to be cycling hot and cold, meaning that the paint was not drying effectively.

Thorne & Derrick attended site and provided a product demonstration of the LFH Fan Heater to key stakeholders. The demo and trial proved successful: the client’s representatives were impressed with the performance of the heaters and the improvements it made to curing times.

ESS worked with Thorne & Derrick to add a range of LFH heaters to their hire fleet which were delivered within 48 hours. The client is now using several heaters on site.

LFH MFH Hire ESS

The LFH and MFH Hazardous Area Heaters are now available for hire via our trusted and approved hire partners.

With a space-saving and energy-efficient heater design, The MFH and LFH fan assisted heaters can both deliver a powerful stream of warm air that can be felt several meters away, even in ambient temperatures as low as -40°C. The heaters are additionally certified to BS EN ISO 80079-36:2016 and BS EN ISO 80079-37:2016 standards for constructional safety, and are suitable for use in both onshore and offshore environments.

Please get in touch to discuss hire rates.

Chemical Store Heating

Thorne & Derrick have supplied a school with a heater and thermostat to heat a small chemical store. A range of chemicals were present on site which meant that a product suitable for use in hazardous areas was required.

Chemicals included:

  • White Spirit
  • Hydrogen Peroxide 9%
  • Phenolphthalein
  • Dimethylbenzene
  • Styccoclean

After careful evaluation of the application and reviewing their chemical stock list, the client purchased the FAW-C Compact Hazardous Area Heater and HFT40 Stainless Steel Thermostat.

The FAW stainless steel hazardous area air warmers provide a versatile, compact air warming solution for small work and storage areas. The range is certified for use in hazardous areas where the atmosphere is classified as a Zone 1 or 2 (IIA, IIB, IIC) gas group, and is certified to Ex e standard for increased safety.

FPSO capable of carrying 2 million barrels explodes off coast of Nigeria
