The DEMULED Series of Flameproof LED Escape Lights, manufactured by Appleton ATX, provide lighting for access on exit routes in hazardous environments during an evacuation. They are suitable for installation in hazardous areas designated as Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22.

The Appleton ATX DEMULED escape lighting has a one hour power supply providing a 45 lumen output (0.50 Watts) during emergency situations. This allows all employees to safely exit when there is no power going to the unit during an evacuation in a hazardous area. When used for space lighting, the DEMULED Series light fittings have a lumen output of 400lm and 0.95 Watts.

The ATEX certified flameproof LED escape lights are suitable for use indoor or outdoors where protection against dirt, water and moisture is essential. Typical applications include oil refineries, petrochemical facilities and pulp and paper mills. The efficient design and compact size of these explosion proof and flameproof LED escape lights, means savings on installation, maintenance and energy costs.

• Connection to plug-in terminal block via 5 x 2.5 mm² (0.004 in²) terminals

Addressable versions: 

• Standard control system capacity: one control system for up to 200 emergency lighting units
• Can operate without additional control lines. Communication between the units and the control system is via mains borne signals using the existing electrical wiring
• Optional increased control system capacity: a booster or repeater unit is used to increase the length of the network to allow up to 1000 emergency lighting units to be on one control system. Allowing for the use of a single computer to manage the emergency lighting system facilities

• Ambient Temperature: Escape route lighting – optimum operating temperature for battery is -5 °C to +30 °C (-22 °F to +131 °F). Space lighting – -30 °C to +55 °C (-22 °F to +131 °F)
• Standard Materials and Finishes: The body features tempered borosilicate glass tube lens with aluminum threaded access cover and end caps with a Nitrile O-ring seal and zinc plated steel guard. The fixing brackets can be zinc plated steel or 316 grade stainless steel. All accessories are white.
