Ex e Increased Safety enclosures hold ATEX Cat 3 Certificates to EN 60079-0 & 60079-7, hazardous area Zone 2, Ex tb or Zone 22, Ex e for the populated Expo Increased Safety Enclosure PE3E.

The Ex e tc enclosures are designed for applications where there is a potential for hazardous dust as well as gas, certification can include for hazardous area Zone 2 & Zone 22.

The Zone 22 certification can be to EN 60079-31 standard Ex tb.

Increased Safety Ex e terminals, Ex e isolators and other Ex e components and apparatus certified items can be installed when used with the PE3E Increased Safety Enclosures.

The construction and power dissipation of the internal components of the dust protected enclosures are critical to ensuring effective purging, compliance with temperature rating and safe operations. All internal components and details must be reviewed with the consultation of Thorne & Derrick to determine compliance.
