Patol Analogue Linear Heat Detection Cable (Fire & Heat Detecting Cables)

Analogue Linear Heat Detection Cable

Patol Heat Detection Cables – Analogue Linear Heat Detection Cable (LHDC)

Fire & Heat Detection Cables.

Patol analogue heat detection cable is designed to provide early detection of any fire, heat or overheating in circumstances where other forms of fire detection would not be viable.

The extensive single zonal lengths of Patol analogue linear heat detection cable can be installed with the ability to trigger alarms for hot spots that occur on extremely small sections of the cable.

Typical installation examples include cable tunnels, ducts, escalators, paint shops, conveyors, oil rigs, oil platforms, hazardous areas and warehouse high rise pallet racking.

Linear Heat Detection Cables (LHDC or Line Heat Detector) are available in both analogue and digital technology.

HAZARDOUS AREA HEAT & FIRE DETECTION USING PATOL CABLES

Patol LHDC heat detection cables are suitable for use in hazardous areas by means of intrinsically safe (IS) zener barriers and locating controllers in the safe area. Similarly, when the fire protected area is remote from the monitoring equipment, interposing cables can be installed between the monitoring equipment and the heat detection cables.

Patol cables protect hazardous area workspaces from the threat of fire cause by the ignition of flammable gases, liquids or vapours – linear heat detection cables provide fire safety for gas storage tank farms (pictured).

Patol SIL 2 (Safety Integrity Level) approved controllers can be used in conjunction with ATEX approved I.S. barrier to further ensure the safety of the fire and heat detection system for a hazardous area.

Heat detection cables monitor worn or damaged rim seals on the floating roof of atmospheric gas storage tanks providing vital fire detection and protection against catastrophic fire or explosion damage.

IS (Intrinsic Safety) – heat detection cables

IS (Intrinsic Safety) is a protection technique for the safe operation of electronic equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres by hazardous areas using IS Barriers. IS Barriers provide explosion protection to allow installation of equipment in Zone 0 hazardous areas – IS (Intrinsic Safety) ensures electrical and thermal energy is always low enough to preclude the ignition of potentially explosive or flammable atmospheres in hazardous area industries.

Associated equipment is electrical equipment which contains both intrinsically safe circuits and non-intrinsically safe circuits and is constructed so that the non-intrinsically safe circuits cannot affect the intrinsically safe circuits. Two types of IS Barrier are common: the shunt diode IS Barrier and the galvanically isolated IS Barrier.
