Marechal PF 600Amps Socket Outlets – 1000V IP66/67 Heavy Duty Plugs & Sockets

Marechal PF 600Amps Socket Outlets – 1000V IP6667 Heavy Duty Plugs & Sockets
Marechal PF 600Amps socket outlets are heavy duty with current ratings from 315A to 600A. PF 600Amps socket outlets are automatically IP66/IP67 when connected and are suitable for use in quarries, tunnel boring machines, port cranes and mining equipment.
Marechal PF plugs have mechanical features such as pilot contacts designed to connect after and disconnect before the phase contacts, IK10 metal casing that is highly resistant to shock, electromagnetic interlocking mechanism, highly conductive silver butt-contacts and a safety shutter (IP4X/IPXXD socket outlet).

MARECHAL PF 600AMPS SOCKET OUTLET Standards
Marechal PF plugs and sockets comply with:
- The European Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/CE (2014/35/EU from April 20 2016)
- The French decree dated 20 December 2011 pertaining to the wiring and operating conditions of movable electrical apparatuses, and to NF C15-100 French standard
- The decrees relating to workers’ protection in Belgium, Spain and Italy
Marechal high current connector type pf
Marehcal PF connectors are high current, heavy duty plugs and socket-outlets which must be electrically interlocked with a suitably rated switching device. The pilot contacts are operated by a cam on the socket-outlet. The pilot circuit cannot be closed until the main circuit has been fully made and the IP66/IP67 seal achieved. Live parts are protected against contact test finger (IP2X/IPXXB) according to IEC/EN 60529 standard.
Warnings
- Connectors must be installed by a qualified electrician, according to applicable standards and to the present instruction sheet
- Connectors must imperatively be interlocked with a switchgear having suitable characteristics
- When operating voltage of the connector exceeds safety extra low voltage (SELV), all metal parts must be connected to Earth (Ground). An Earth (Ground) connection is supplied with all Marechal metal accessories.

Marechal PF – Install & Operation Guidelines
Install & Operation Guidelines
Given the important cross-section of the conductors used for these currents, terminals are offset, to allow the passage of Earth (Ground) and Neutral conductors above phase conductors.
Strip cable sheath by the following length ‘A’ Figure F1 to allow the conductors to spread across the terminals:
- PF Quadra straight or angled handle: A=220 mm.
- PF Classic straight or angled handle: A=280 mm.
- Surface box 95/150 mm²: A=400 mm.
- Surface box 185/240 mm²: A=700 mm.
Some conductors need to be shortened by the following lengths ‘B’ (see Figure F1):
- PF Quadra/PF Classic straight handle – N and E: B=30 mm
- PF Quadra straight handle and surface boxes
– L1 and L3: B=40 mm
– L2: B=80 mm - PF Classic straight handle and surface boxes
– L 1 and L 3: B=60 mm
– L 2: B=95 mm
For angled handles, assemble the body onto the plug top or connector, and then open the cover.
Angled handles and surface boxes use straight lugs.
Straight handles require 90° angled lugs
Handle or box: insert cable through cable gland.
Cable outer sheath must extend at least 50 mm inside the handle/box.
After crimping, sleeve the lugs.
Lugs must be tightened on contacts by means of M14 screws and spring washers supplied (see Table T1). Respect the necessary air and creepage distances between the lugs themselves, and between the lugs and other conductive parts.
Operation
- PF is shielded by a protective lid held by a chain. Open the control cam, turn the cap one eighth anticlockwise to retrieve it.
- Only devices with compatible contact configurations and electrical ratings will mate with each other.
- Insert the three rollers of the device into the castellation of the complementary device and turn it clockwise until the stop. The main circuit is then made and the IP66/IP67 seal is achieved.
- To energise the unit, turn fully the cam which closes the control circuit. In this position, the device is locked. It can be padlocked (PF Quadra) or locked with a screw (PF Classic).
- To remove the plug, remove the padlock or loosen the locking screws and then turn the control cam. This opens the pilot circuit.
- Turn the device in the opposite direction to remove it. Shut the lid.
- The cover can then be locked.
Optional Socket-Outlet Locking / Plug Lockout
PF Quadra: The cam located on the socket-outlet has three padlocking positions, offset by 90°, designed for a padlock of any size up to 8 mm or a safety lock:
- Unlocked, auxiliary and pilot contacts opened. The cover or the plug can be placed or removed;
- Locked, pilot contacts opened. The cover is locked, or the plug is locked with pilot contacts opened (lock-out);
- Locked, auxiliary and pilot contacts closed. The plug is live, but cannot be removed.
PF Classic: The 8 mm Hex-key-operated cam has two positions:
- Unlocked, auxiliary and pilot contacts opened. The cover or the plug can be placed or removed;
- Locked, auxiliary and pilot contacts closed. An 8 mm Hex screw allows to lock the cam in this position, where the plug is live, but cannot be removed.
Optional Plug/Inlet Cover
The PF Quadra cover is padlockable as above, whereas the PF Classic cover can be screw locked. These caps can be surface-mounted to provide a resting/lockout position for the plug when not in use.
IEC 60309 Plugs
IEC 60309 is an international standard from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for “plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes” and high-current power connectors.
Also certified by VERITAS LCIE, UL, AS, VDE, TR CU (GOST) and cCSAus (French, American, Australian, German, Russian and Canadian inspection laboratories) and by BUREAU VERITAS MARINE.
