15kW AEU1 Hazardous Area Heaters

Hazloc’s AEU1 Explosion Proof Air Heater is the most extensively specified hazardous area electrical air heating product to provide reliable and safe heating on offshore vessels including drill ships, jack-up vessels, semi-submersible vessels, offshore barges and floating platforms.
The short video below is one of two 15kW AEU1 hazardous area heaters by Hazloc Heaters with a factory built-in electronic room thermostat at our functional operation test station.
During the 25 minute factory test, we ensure the heater meets all required performance specifications. These tests include voltage, amperage, dielectric strength , surface temperatures, auto high limit trip and reset temperatures as well as room thermostat functionality.
These heaters were just built for Torm A/S for use onboard their oil and chemical tankers (Torm Eric and Torm Resilience) where they will provide heat to the ballast water treatment system deckhouse installed on the main deck.
All the equipment inside the deckhouse must be minimum apparatus class IIB and temperature class T4 due to the cargo’s onboard the vessels.
The heater is used during the winter time where the fresh water and seawater pipes will freeze if the compartment is not heated.
Torm A/S has selected Hazloc Heaters to be used on 14 of their current vessels so far.
