ATEX Doors

Zone 1 & Zone 21 Hazardous Areas

High Speed Roll-up Door Certified & Approved According to ATEX  – DYNACO S-549

Dynaco S-549 high speed roll-up ATEX doors are suitable for use in outdoor hazardous area applications in Zone 1 (Gas) and Zone 21 (Dust) potentially explosive atmospheres – the high performance doors are approved and certified according to the ATEX Directive by the Apragaz notified body.

All metal parts of the Dynaco S-549 hazardous area doors are made from corrosion resistant stainless steel whilst the non-metallic parts are composed of antistatic or electrical conductive materials – the construction of the doors ensures they avoid the build up of static electricity that could led to a spark in flammable gas/dust environments, collectively referred to as hazardous area zones, according to the level of explosion risk defined by the ATEX Directive.

💡 STOP & CHECK – Are you compliant? Is your current high speed door an accident waiting to happen? There are many high speed doors installed which have been accepted as compliant because they have an ATEX certified motor. This does not even begin to mitigate the spark potential from such a piece of equipment. If you are concerned, please do not hesitate to contact T&D for advice.

Benefits of Dynaco Doors

Explosive Atmospheres & Hazardous Area Locations & Workspaces

  • Save Energy – reduced heat losses to buildings achived by superior sealing against air escape, draughts, humidity and loss of heat
  • Fastest Door Cycle – Dynaco high speed doors limit heat loss and energy costs. 80% of energy losses are due to open time of the door
  • Accident Forgiving & Self Reinserting – reduce costly repairs, avoid downtime interruptions due to blocked doors + damage to vehicles
  • Reliability – few moving parts, reduced maintenance, lower operating costs and long service lifetime. >1million cycles = market leader
  • Ultra Safe – the only 3rd party ATEX certified high speed flexible door available –  soft bottom with edge detection reduces accidents
  • Explosion Proof & Non-Sparking high strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel door structure + anti-static synthetic parts
  • Wind Load Resistancestable and secure up to wind load class 4, according to European standards EN12424
  • Plant & Personnel Safety – flexible door curtain with no rigid elements improves Health & Safety with reduced site injuries + damages

ATEX Doors

As well as being certified according to ATEX Directive for Zone 1 & Zone 21 hazardous area locations the Dynaco S-549 range of doors are also wind resistant up to wind load class 4 according to European standards. Efficient operating speed and superior sealing properties enable this ATEX door to improve traffic flows, provide employee comfort and save money on energy costs.

Dynaco S-549 doors are fully self-reinserting and therefore will automatically reinsert itself if the the curtain is accidentally hit.

Apragaz are an official inspection authority for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Their unique design provides virtually perfect sealing, making the doors airtight and protecting your environment against drafts, humidity and dirt.

Zone 21 Explosive Dust atmospheres

Zone 21 is defined as a “hazardous atmosphere formed by a dust cloud that is not likely to occur in normal operation and if so, only for a short period of time. Accumulations and layers of combustible dusts are present.” As part of explosion protection measures for, it is critical that prevention and mitigation against risk form the basis of a safe working environment. Preventing an explosive dust cloud from occurring is the primary method but this cannot always be achieved. The next step is to remove ignition sources such as electrical and non-electrical devices, hot surfaces and electrostatic discharges. Further mitigation measures may include partial inerting, isolating (making sections), venting and good housekeeping. Equipment used within such areas should be certified in line with the ATEX directive.

Potentially explosive atmospheres in the food industry include flour mills and the logistics and storage warehouses for custard powder, instant coffee, sugar, dried milk, potato powder and soup powder – including Zones 1 (21) and Zones 2 (22) we can assist with the upgrade of traditional fluorescent to modern technology brilliant white-light LED hazardous area lighting systems.

ATEX Doors Zone 21 Hazardous Areas

Doors Certified According to ATEX for Zone 21 Hazardous Areas | Zone 21 is a workplace in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in air is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally.
