Portable Gas Detection

Crowcon Gas-Pro Gas Detectors

Portable gas detectors are typically smaller, handheld devices that provide gas detection in smaller locations and are often used in confined spaces or working areas – mobile, transferable and transportable.

Crowcon Gas-Pro portable gas detector is designed for confined space entry monitoring and can detect up to 5 gases. The Crowcon Gas-Pro offers a compact and rugged solution for works and fleet managers entering confined spaces.

Crowcon Gas-Pro

TWA Resume

The Crowcon Gas-Pro and T4 ranges have Crowon’s proprietary TWA Resume feature. This  innovative and unique functionality makes sure accurate TWAs are recorded for each and every 8-hour/TWA period, keeping employees safe and removing the risk of non-compliance. Furthermore, it makes it easy for a firm to prove their compliance in the face of any legal claim.

TWA Resume

TWA Resume

TWA Resume is a patented feature only found on Crowcon devices. When turned off during the TWA measurement period, it stores TWA data in its memory. When a worker switches it back on, they can choose to resume measurement from where it left off, or start a new TWA measurement.

Gas-Pro

In-field Pellistor Changes

By allowing pellistor corrections in the field, Gas-Pro detectors give customers the flexibility to test for a variety of flammable gases, conveniently and with no need for multiple sensors or detectors.

Users can continue to calibrate using existing methane canisters, saving time and money.

Hydrogen Cyanide

The dangers of Hydrogen Cyanide can’t be ignored it is definitely a useful addition to the features of the Gas-Pro.

By adding the ability to detect HCN to another of Crowcon’s established gas detectors, more workers will be protected from this extremely toxic and commonly-used chemical.

Dangers of Hydrogen Cyanide

  • Extremely toxic, even at low doses (4.5ppm – 0.00045% volume)
  • Normally colourless
  • Smells/ tastes like ‘bitter almonds’
  • Less dense than air so will collect at top of poorly ventilated spaces
  • Poses an explosive risk at 5.6% vol. (you’d be very dead before the explosion)

ATEX Beacon

Hazardous area industries including offshore oil/gas platforms and FPSOs, onshore oil refineries, processing plants, pipelines, storage farms and LPG/LNG plants all utilise or produce a wide range of hazardous flammable liquids and gases that can be detected using correctly specified flame and gas detectors.

Detecting toxic and flammable gases requires the detectors to be classified and certified according to the specific IECEx or ATEX standard – we distribute flame and fire detectors manufactured by Spectrex to operate in the harshest environmental conditions including self-contained stand-alone devices designed for direct connection to control and alarm systems or automatic fire extinguishing systems.

Our range of Hazardous Area Fire & Gas Detection System products also includes Explosion Proof Warning Systems & Hazardous Area Lighting – comprehensive range of intrinsically safe, flameproof and explosion proof alarm sounders, sirens, bells and horns, loudspeakers and beacons.
