High Speed Roll-up Doors for Hazardous Areas & Explosive Atmospheres

Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH is one of the world leaders in producing speciality chemicals.

They approached Entrematic in Belgium requiring an ATEX Door solution to protect the potentially explosive atmospheres around the internal facility and also protect it from direct sunlight. Evonik goes far beyond chemistry to create innovative, profitable and sustainable solutions for customers. The company is active in more than 100 countries globally and operates production plants in almost 30 countries on six continents.

Together with a local distributor, Entrematic Belgium installed a Dynaco S-549 High Speed ATEX Door. The high speed door allows Evonik to have easy access with a forklift to the stock of active ingredients stored and warehoused in a classified hazardous area zone with potentially explosive atmosphere according to the ATEX Directive.

The ATEX Door significantly improves the internal working environment and protects the products against direct sunlight. The ability to deal with the number of forklifts and the automatic reinsertion of the door curtain were the most important criteria for Evonik when selecting a Dynaco Door.

The internal working environment could be significantly improved by closing off the area and protecting it against the sun as well as bad weather.

Solution

Entrematic Belgium supplied a Dynaco S-549 Category 2 Zone 2 ATEX Door with the following dimension 5500x3700mm.
