Raxton Increased Safety Reducers
Raxton Exe hazardous area reducers provide a means of electrical connection between different thread forms and sizes – reducers are ATEX Certified. They effectively reduce the threaded entry diameter of an enclosure to accept a smaller gland or fitting with a smaller thread. Reducers may also be supplied to accept smaller glands of alternative threads.
Standard Exe Exd reducers, manufactured by Raxton, have a hexagonal body, or for applications where space is a critical factor, reducers with a circular head can be offered having a diameter equal to the across flats dimension of the hexagonal head.
Raxton flameproof (Exd) and increased safety (Ex e) reducers are marked with the applicable approval number and size.
Certified reducers should be used following the basic rules in line with good engineering practice:- no more than one reducer should be used at one time. Stopping plugs should be fitted directly into unused entries of the equipment and not into a reducer.
Brass Reducers are supplied with a hexagonal head as standard; where space is a critical factor adaptors with a circular head can be offered with a diameter equal to the across flats dimension of the hexagonal head. Nylon Reducers are designed with a circular head. Raxton Exe Reducers are supplied with an ‘O’ ring to maintain the IP integrity of the installation and are independently tested to IP68.

Raxton Exe reducers are available in a variety of finishes including Nickel, Electro Zinc, Zinc Passivated, Chromatised, Electroless Nickel and Anodised.
