VEGA VEGAPULS 63 radar level sensor provides continuous level measurement of aggressive liquids under difficult process conditions, including those within storage tanks, process vessels, dosing vessels and reactors providing exact measuring results independent of pressure, temperature, gas or steam.

The VEGAPULS 63 has an encapsulated antenna system which protects the level sensor against pollution, ensuring a maintenance free operation. The front flush mounting ensures an optimum cleanability even high hygienic requirements.

Function

Extremely short microwave pulses are emitted by the antenna system in the direction of the measured product, reflected by the product surface and received back again by the antenna system.

The time from emission to reception of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. A special time stretching procedure allows reliable and precise measurement of the extremely short signal running times.
