A portable solution was required to safely heat a multitude of worker sites to provide operatives with comfortable working conditions to enable continued worker productivity. The construction workers in versatile environments required sufficient levels of air warming, to overcome low ambient temperatures and maintain labour productivity.

The current heater used by the client, an unreliable diesel heater, was prone to excess fumes and emissions. Given the hazardous properties of the sites worked on, there was a huge risk of ignition while using this heater. Furthermore, the need for a dedicated role to monitor the status of the heater was inefficient for the company.

Thorne & Derrick have solved the issue in this application by supplying a suitable portable and safe electric heater to deliver the required localised heating to each site. The ‘Bulldog’ ATEX portable heater has not only delivered the required working temperatures to the workers in the warehouse, but has also enabled further worker productivity while adhering to ATEX & IECEx safety regulations.

EXHEAT MFH

We provided the solution to the client of the EXHEAT MFH, 6-440 model, which is ATEX & IECEx certified, and offers Ingress protection of IP65. The MFH heater (“Bulldog”) is constructed with polyamide PA66 with glass and steel fibre reinforcement.
