Application – VEGAPULS WL 61

Several underground overflow basins are operated by a municipal wastewater association. They have been designed for combined storm water and sanitary sewage handling especially during heavy rain. An overflow leads to surface waters and there is a drain leading to the treatment plant.

The gates of the sewer network must be intelligently controlled to ensure accurate and reliable readings of the levels in the individual basins can be read. This system must be easy to install and maintenance-free.

VEGAPULS WL 61 radar level sensor is the ideal solution for this particular application and is specifically recommended for use in the water management industry such as overflow basins and pump shafts. The direct cable outlet and IP68 high protection rating allow submersion into water without affecting the operation. The VEGAPULS WL61 can be mounted horizontally on the wall or ceiling.

With this solution the gates can be controlled according to demand and the storage volume of the retention basin thus optimally used. The flange wall mounting makes the VEGAPULS WL 61 radar level sensor easily accessible for service purposes at any time.
