MEDC Expertline Hazardous Area Beacons
MEDC Expertline | ATEX BEACONS
ZONE 1 & ZONE 2 HAZARDOUS AREAS
MEDC Expertline are ATEX beacons used for optical signals for warning, information or signalling purposes in ATEX & IECEx Zone 1 and Zone 2 Hazardous Areas. Available in the following operating modes are continuous light, strobe light, blinking light and rotating light, and turning on the supply voltage activates the device. The Ex-light is equipped with high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and comes in the colours white, red, yellow, green and blue.
The housing of the ATEX beacon conforms to protection degree IP66 and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use – and can be ordered from Thorne & Derrick with MEDC call points for integration into fire detection systems in the explosive atmosphere industries.
The high output LED beacon with explosion protection concept Ex d, has plastic housing and a dome consisting of impact-resistant polycarbonate. The dome of the hazardous area beacon with the LEDs is completely filled with transparent compound. The complete electronics are also encapsulated in the compound and the terminal room has been designed according to the ‘increased safety’ type of protection.
The DIP-switches for adjusting the operating modes have the ‘intrinsically safe’ type of protection. A V4A metal bracket serves as wall mounting. The ATEX beacon may be operated in any position.
Contact Thorne & Derrick for customer service, competitive quotations and availability from stock for the MEDC range of sounders, including MEDC Expertline, for safe use in hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres.
MEDC
The MEDC range of sounders and beacons from the Crouse Hinds series of Signalling & Alarms – a comprehensive range of Explosion Proof call points are also available with ATEX & IECEx certification and explosion protection to both Ex d (flameproof) and Ex ia (Intrinsically Safe) applications.
