PRD Series 16, 32, 80 and 125 Amp Flameproof Plugs and Sockets manufactured by Appleton ATX are designed for hazardous areas where weatherproof and robust equipment is required. These flameproof plugs and sockets are certified for hazardous areas Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. The PRD series of plug and socket assemblies provides safe, reliable power for portable or stationary electrical equipment such as lighting and heating systems, conveyors, motor starters, air-conditioning appliances, compressors and pumps.

The plugs and sockets with ATEX Certification can be used with both onshore and offshore portable and stationery electrical equipment in hazardous areas with corrosive atmospheres and those classed as Zone 1 and 2 and Zone 21 and 22 installations.

  • Mechanical interlocking device ensures disconnection within the flameproof chamber before the plug is removed
  • The plug cannot be removed when energized
  • 1 cable entry via integrated cable gland diameter 17 to 22 mm (0.70 to 0.87 in)
  • Connection on 6 mm² (0.009 in²) maximum terminals
