VEGAPULS C 23

VEGAPULS C 23 is a radar level sensor manufactured by VEGA that provides non-contact level measurement of liquids and bulk solids in simple applications where a high degree of protection is required. It is particularly suitable for use in water treatment, pumping stations, rain overflow basins and level monitoring. In bulk solids, the sensors are used in medium-sized bulk solids silos, segmented vessels or open heaps.

The VEGAPULS C 23 is a maintenance-free operation due to non-contact 80 GHz radar technology and is able to give exact measurement results independent of medium properties, process and environmental conditions.

A low cost sensor with an axial cable outlet, 4 … 20 mA/HART output, SDI-12 or Modbus output, Ex-approval measuring range of up to 30m and a plastic housing (IP66/IP68) making the radar sensor suitable for simple measuring tasks.

Applications

River level measurement at Gauging station

VEGAPULS C 23 provides radar level measurement for outdoor applications such as Gauging Stations. Precise monitoring of the river level is an important requirement for ­sustainable ­extraction of river water for use as drinking water. The measurement sites are often in exposed locations and sensors are subjected to all weathers and surface conditions.

Level measurement at the dam

VEGAPULS C 23 provides non contact reservoir level measurement with radar even under harsh weather conditions. To operate drinking water storage reliably, precise information about the water level of the inflow as well as the dam itself is required. The level of water in the dam can be continuously monitored by a hydrostatic level measurement. Since infrastructure at these remote sites at the dam wall, is often lacking, wireless mobile data transmission units are often used for sending the measured values.
