Atex Platform Scales

An ATEX platform scale is a type of weighing instrument or hazardous area scale designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

HV/HW-CEP is an ATEX platform scale or balance manufactured by A&D Weighing and distributed by Thorne & Derrick. The weighing equipment is designed with additional safety features to prevent ignition sources that can trigger an explosion in hazardous area environments where there may be combustible gases, vapours, dusts or flammable substances present.

The A&D HV/HW-CEP is an intrinsically safe platform scale that is suitable for environments where flammable chemicals are processed eg. petrochemical manufacturers, oil platforms/refineries, petroleum pipelines, pharmaceutical companies, and paint manufacturers.

It is manufactured with an IP65 dust & waterproof base unit with a stainless steel (SUS430) pan, so it can be washed with water and can weigh wet objects without problems. The HV-CEP/HW-CEP series is resistant to chemicals, scratches and rust, making it easy to keep clean and hygienic in hazardous areas.

Hazardous Area Classification

You can effectively maintain balance in areas which have ignitable flammable gases, vapours or liquids and are present for continuous prolonged amount of time under the standard operating conditions, such as hazardous area Zone 0 or Division 1.
