Gas Analysis & Measurement

In-Situ Gas Analysers

Gas analysers and measurement technology from SICK, enable devices to be mounted directly at the measurement site. SICK in-situ gas analysers take measurements directly within the process under system conditions, including ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. Extractive gas analysers use extractive measurement technology to extract a partial gas flow from the gas duct, conditions the extracted gas and feeds it to an analyser module.

SICK in-situ gas analysers require minimal maintenance and extremely short response times and are available in two different versions:

  • Cross-duct version for representative measurement results across the entire duct diameter
  • Measuring probe version, optimised for single-sided gas duct installation

Hazardous Area Gas Analysers

SICK GM32 Gas Analyser

NH3, NO, NO2, SO2  & TRS Components

SICK GM32 in-situ gas analyser provides non-contact measurement of gases in emission plants and industrial processes. This includes TRS (Total Reduced Sulphur) measurement in the Kraft pulp processes – the kraft process (also known as kraft pulping or sulphate process) is a process for conversion of wood into wood pulp.

For emission measurement of SO2 and NO, GM32 is tested for suitability according to European standard EN 15267.

Measuring TRS Gas Emissions

ATEX Gas Analyzers

SICK GM32-TRS-PE provides continuous gas measurement of primary and secondary TRS components : hydrogen sulphide (H2S), methyl mercaptan (CH3SH), dimethyl sulphide (CH3,2)S2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitric oxide (NO) and ammonia (NH3) gases.

ATEX certified hazardous area version of SICK GM32-EX provides safe and reliable gas measurement and analysis in Zone 1 (2G) and Zone 2 (3G) potentially explosive atmospheres.

SICK GM35 Gas Analyser

CO2, H2O and CO, or N2O Gas Monitoring

Control and regulation of combustion or drying processes requires accurate measurement and analysis of gas – oxygen and CO gas must be measured. In drying processes, the humidity curve must be acquired and plant monitored for CO gas concentration.

SICK GM35 in-situ gas analyser is specified to measure CO, CO2 and H2O simultaneously and directly in the process. SICK GM35 additionally monitors greenhouse gas emissions (CO, CO2, N2O) measuring fast and short-time gas process fluctuations.

SICK GM700 Gas Analyser

NH3, HF, HCl or H2O Gas Monitoring

The SICK GM700 analyser can be mounted directly in the duct through which the gas flows using direct laser spectroscopy to measure ammonia (NH), hydrogen fluoride (HF) and hydrogen chloride (HCI).
