Patol Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detection Cable (Fire & Heat Detecting Cables)

Patol Heat Detection Cables – Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detection Cable (LHDC)
Fire & Heat Detection Cables.
Patol fiber optic heat detection cable provides accurate, reliable and intelligent fire and heat detection as well as asset monitoring for installations around the world.
The fiber optic linear heat detection cable technology utilised within the Sensa systems combine speed of detection, reliability and versatility in one proven linear heat detection system.
Sensa systems have added value since 1996 and leads in the delivery of solutions for monitoring temperature and detecting fires within a range of industries and applications.
Common applications for fiber optic linear heat detection cable include monitoring of vessels, car park protection, automatic storage warehouses and power cable trays.
Patol Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detection Cable
Product Construction
Patol fiber optic linear heat detection cable offers many important advantages as a sensing medium. The signals are immune to electromagnetic interference and therefore ensure integrity of electrically noisy areas such as around power and transformers.
The cable is safe to use in hazardous environments as there is no electric current used in the sensing fibre and the fibre is relatively inert and dielectric medium.

HAZARDOUS AREA HEAT & FIRE DETECTION USING PATOL CABLES
Patol – Detecting Fire & Heat In Hazardous Areas. Image : Shell.Patol LHDC heat detection cables are suitable for use in hazardous areas by means of intrinsically safe (IS) zener barriers and locating controllers in the safe area. Similarly, when the fire protected area is remote from the monitoring equipment, interposing cables can be installed between the monitoring equipment and the heat detection cables.
Patol cables protect hazardous area workspaces from the threat of fire cause by the ignition of flammable gases, liquids or vapours – linear heat detection cables provide fire safety for gas storage tank farms (pictured).
Patol SIL 2 (Safety Integrity Level) approved controllers can be used in conjunction with ATEX approved I.S. barrier to further ensure the safety of the fire and heat detection system for a hazardous area.
IS (Intrinsic Safety) is a protection technique for the safe operation of electronic equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous areas using IS Barriers.
