In the Pulp & Paper Industry the strength of the paper is determined by the important additive of starch. It’s applied as surface starch via a glue or film press and mixed into the pulp mass on the wet end of the paper machine. Tall narrow silos store the raw starch powder and the filling process often generates vast amounts of dust.

Other processes that occur are liquefaction, processing system in the starch silo and the starch cooker, which VEGA devices can also measure.
