Non Contact Radar Level Sensor

In the Oil and Gas industry monitoring the mud flow in the return line is essential to stop the solid matter from causing a blockage when the mud is flowing back from the borehole. The mud return system needs to be carefully monitored using VEGA level sensors to ensure there is no damage to the drilling head or interruptions to production.

VEGA Level Sensor - VEGAPULS 62 Radar Level Sensor

Using the VEGAPULS 62 non contact radar level sensor makes the mud flow measurement contact free and requires minimal maintenance.

VEGAPULS 62 mud flow sensor is mounted parallel to the pipeline and is able to determine the flow by measuring the level in the pipeline. After being deflected by 90° the microwaves are sent through an opening in the return line.

VEGAPULS 62’s non contact radar level sensors are the ideal solution as it enables the mud flow in the return line to be unaffected by blockages caused by parts of the sensor or other fittings.
