ATEX Gas Bottle Heater Jacket – Inteliheat IHF/G
The Inteliheat IHF/G ATEX gas bottle heater jacket is ideal for gas bottle heating applications within Zone 1 & Zone 2 hazardous area applications for type K gas bottles or other bottles of a similar size.
The Inteliheat IHF/G heater jacket is constructed from silicone coated glass cloth with a high density fibreglass insulation with a heating element within the jacket.
The ATEX gas bottle heater jacket ensures safe operating conditions are maintained even in the presence of potentially explosive gases and no transformers are required as the Inteliheat IHF/G operates using standard AC supply voltages up to 240V.
The Inteliheat IHF/G gas bottle heating jackets have a self limiting temperature of around 30ºC above the ambient temperature will be maintained on the drum wall when operated at 240V. If lower temperature are required the ATEX drum heater jacket can be fitted with a 0-50ºC thermostat which can be adjusted whilst the jacket is within a non hazardous area.

Gas mixtures are affected by temperature variations and specific optimum temperature should be maintained for several gas types and groups. When gas is discharged from a storage cylinder or bottle the gas expands rapidly and cools – this can cause icing, frost formation or gas degradation. The process of gaseous expansion can also reduce flow rates and impact upon complex processes. Gas bottle and cylinder heating maintains the gas mixtures at the required temperature level and avoids the problems associated with sudden temperature drop on release from the bottle or cylinder. Heaters are available for gas bottles located in both non-hazardous and hazardous area locations.
