In order to gain accurate wave height measurement offshore production and drilling facilities must be kept in the same place even in rough seas where there can be waves up to 30 metres high.

Environmental factors such as waves and winds are measured and GPs navigation data clearly evaluated.

“Freefall lifeboats” are attached to the platform to enable people to make a quick gateaway from the floating oil production facility in case of emergencies.

This would be released at the right moment so that it hits the highest point of the wave reducing the impact forces for passengers and material.

In addition to recording level measurement, VEGAPULS 62 level sensor also lends itself well for wave height measurement.
