Crowcon Detective+ | Portable Flammable Gas Detector ATEX Certified
Portable Gas Detectors
Crowcon Detective+ | ATEX Zone 1 & Zone 2 Hazardous Areas
Fixed Gas Detection & Portable Gas Safety | Industrial Locations & Hazardous Area Zones
The Crowcon Detective+ portable gas detector is an area monitoring gas detector designed for group protection and can be used to provide a virtual fence line and in areas for the presence of selected flammable gases and triggers an audible and visual alarm if set levels are reached.
Crowcon Detective+ gas detection equipment is rugged and interconnectable with up to 25 Detective+ units up to 100m apart from each other to indicate an alarm sensed by any one unit.
The Detective+ units can be connected via cables or via the Detective Wireless module.
The Detective+ gas detector can now be fitted with infra-red (IR) sensors providing either CO₂ detection or allowing higher levels of flammable gas monitoring. IR sensors also provide immunity to the poisoning effects which standard flammable gas sensors can suffer from.
C-Test bump solution with configuration update keeps the Crowcon detectors correctly configured to ensure the product is consistently up-to-date without the need for a service or technician team.
The Detective+ portable flammable gas detector is also water and dust resistant to IP65.

- Simple Operation – The Crowcon Detective+ is available with infrared sensors, has a clear display and has an optional built in pump providing a fast response with clear information for gas identification
- Rugged Design – The Detective+ has a rugged tripod design that has a folding or flexible legs and meets IP65 specifications
- Audible Alarms – 25 Detective+ units can be linked together up to 100m from nearby units. A visual red alarm with an audible and visible confidence blip. The units sending the alarm flash faster with multiple beacons to ensure fast reactions to gas hazards
Crowcon Detective+ Bump Testing & Calibration
Routine bump testing is recommended for the range of Crowcon portable gas detectors prior to each use. Bump testing is a brief application of a gas to the sensor to invoke a prescribed reaction, ensuring the gas detector reacts as expected.
Bump testing provides a quick, easy and direct method of verifying gas detectors are performing as required and takes a lot less time than ‘zeroing’ the device.
The bump test is widely accepted as a suitable method of testing gas detection equipment.
