Crowcon Gasman Gas Detector – Intrinsically Safe Single Gas Monitor
Portable Gas Detectors
Crowcon Gasman | ATEX Zone 1 & Zone 2
The Crowcon Gasman portable gas detector is an intrinsically safe, compact and lightweight in design piece of gas detection equipment. It is a full function personal single gas monitor which is able to monitor single gases in the most arduous industrial conditions.
Crowcon Gasman is able to detect flammable gas, oxygen and toxic gases in industries such as oil and gas, chemical plants (with exotic gases), steel works (special CO sensor), hospitality (CO2) and waste and water works.
The Gasman single gas detector is user friendly and comfortable to wear, weighing only 130g. Operated by a single button with a large easy to read display and alarms that are both audible (95 dB) and visual (vivid red/ blue LEDs).
Crowcon Gasman is and vibrating option for added safety.
C-Test bump solution, with configuration update, keeps the Crowcon gas detector correctly configured to ensure the product is up-to-date without the need for servicing.
These gas detectors are also water and dust resistant to ingress protection rating IP65. Crowcon Gasman is also available in a safe area CO2 version offering 0-5% carbon dioxide measurement – the Gasman IR CO2.

Crowcon Gasman – Features
- Simple Operation – Crowcon Gasman has a single button operation and an easy to read backlit display for gas readings and diagnostics. It is comfortable to wear and ultra lightweight.
- Robust Construction – The Gasman is manufactured from a tough polycarbonate housing in order to protect the user in even the harshest of environments. It has a full over moulding for high impact resistance and the IP65 rating ensures water and dust resistance.
- Effective Warning – The loud, 945B audible alarm and ultra bright dual red/blue visual alarm ensures the user will be alerted to the presence of gas. There are 2 levels of instantaneous alarm and TWA alarms for toxic versions. Where the ambient noise is high the Gasman can still alert you via an internal vibrating alarm and the high impact blue/red LED alarms.
- Flexible Options – Options are available for flammable gas, oxygen and toxic gases with real time TWA and peak display options. The Gasman detector is available with rechargeable versions for all gas types and non-rechargeable versions for oxygen and toxic gases. The device is also fully interchangeable with intelligent sensor modules.

Crowcon Gasman Bump Testing And Calibration
Routine bump testing is recommended for the range of Crowcon portable gas detectors prior to each use. Bump testing is a brief application of a gas to the sensor to invoke a prescribed reaction, ensuring the gas detector reacts as expected.
Bump testing provides a quick, easy and direct method of verifying gas detectors are performing as required and takes a lot less time than ‘zeroing’ the device.
The bump test is widely accepted as a suitable method of testing gas detection equipment.
