ATEX Induction Drum Heater – Thermosafe Type A

The Thermosafe Type A ATEX induction drum heater is ideal for drum heating applications within Zone 1 & Zone 2 hazardous area applications for 205 litre steel drums.

The Thermosafe Type A uses induction heating technology to heat up the drum container directly and uniformly in the drum wall by alternating magnetic fields. Unlike conventional heating methods of radiation or convection there are no hot elements so the Thermosafe Type A heater remains much cooler than the drum being heated ensuring a high level of safety.

The induction drum heater coil is wholly encapsulated within a glass reinforced resin cylinder which is designed specifically to be suitable for use within chemical plants.

Typical heat up times of an organic liquid can be around 15ºC per hour without hot spots along the drum wall which could result in product degradation. The Thermosafe Type A is ideal for clean environments and has an Ingress Protection rating to IP66 with simple, smooth surfaces and no moving parts allowing it to be hosed down even during use if required.

The ATEX induction drum heater ensures safe operating conditions are maintained even in the presence of potentially explosive gases and no transformers are required as the Thermosafe Type A operates using standard AC supply voltages up to 240V.
