Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Katronic’s KATflow 10 is a fixed flowmeter which utilises ultrasonic technology to measure the flow rate of liquids within pipes without entering the pipe. The KATflow 10 is a simple and cost effective alternative to in-line flowmeters on effluent, wastewater and sludge applications where the flow of liquid contains higher levels of solid or entrained gas bubbles.
Unlike other KATflow sensors, the KATflow 10 does not use transit time technology to measure the flow rate, instead a wide ultrasonic beam is refracted by the pipe wall, as well as reflected by suspended particles in the flowing medium.

The KATflow 10 sends ultrasonic pulses which are refracted at angles across the axis of the flow and then reflected from bubbles, particles and vortices at a wide range of directions and frequencies.
KATflow 10 flowmeters are suitable for pipe diameters ranging from 30mm up to 350mm and have a robust IP68 stainless steel enclosure. The flowmeter can be used for temperatures ranging from -20ºC to +70ºC and flow velocities from 0.3m/s to 4m/s.
