Katronic’s KATflow 170 is an ATEX fixed flowmeter which utilises ultrasonic technology to measure the flow rate of liquids within pipes without entering the pipe within Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. The KATflow 170 is designed to be suitable for harsh environmental conditions and provides a corrosion-resistant option as part of a fully ATEX certified package.
KATflow 170 ATEX flowmeters are suitable for pipe diameters ranging from 10mm up to 3,000mm and have a robust IP66 enclosure constructed from either epoxy-coated aluminium or stainless steel and has an LCD display and glass fronted keypad.
Stainless steel sensors, cables and connectors are supplied as standard for temperature ranges from -50ºC to +115ºC with higher temperature ranges on request. The KATflow 170 allows for the measurement of two flows simultaneously in explosive atmospheres and hazardous area locations.

Katronic KATflow 170 flow meters with ATEX certification are available in both aluminium and corrosion resistant stainless steel for offshore installations where exposure to corrosive hydrocarbons and seawater atmosphere exists.
The minimum operating temperature of the Katronic KF170 is -20oC. For applications where the temperature levels are lower we recommend that the flow meter is installed inside a secondary housing to avoid any damage to the meters display.
Katronic KATflow 170 is an ideal flowmeter solution for applications including produced water measurements, methanol and water injection systems, product and interface detection systems, measurement of refined products, tanker unloading systems, oil blending skids and more.
