MEDC SM87HXB are ATEX beacons that have been designed for use in potentially Explosive Atmospheres and harsh environmental conditions in ATEX & IECEx Zone 1 and Zone 2 Hazardous Areas.

The stainless steel or marine grade alloy enclosures of the Hazardous Area Beacons are suitable for use offshore or onshore, where lightweight combined with corrosion resistance and strength is required and can be ordered from Thorne & Derrick with MEDC call points for integration into fire detection systems in the explosive atmosphere industries.

The ATEX beacons can be painted to customer specification and fitted with identification labels. An LED version is also available, see MEDC SM87LED, offering extended lifetimes: and a high temperature version of the hazardous area beacons are also available upon request.

Stainless steel, one of the most durable materials available on the market, is both hard wearing and corrosion resistant – increasing the life of products in harsh environments and therefore reducing maintenance costs.
