ASCO 047 Solenoid Valves – Explosion Proof Manual Reset Valve (4 Way)
ASCO 047 solenoid valves are manual reset version of the ASCO 8342 series of solenoid valves (1/4″ and 3/8″ NPT) and the ASCO 8344 (1/2″ to 1″ NPT) series of solenoid valves.
The 1/4″ and 3/8″ versions are direct acting in order to provide maximum flow for their size and the 1/2″ to 1″ size have poppet construction for high flows and tight shutoff.
Once tripped, the ASCO 047 can only be manually reset to automatic operation.
ASCO 047 Solenoid Valves – Product Features
Further features of the ASCO 047 include:
- Electrically Tripped (trips when energized), No Voltage Release (trips when de-energized), or Free Handle constructions
- Intrinsically Safe constructions are available

ASCO 047 Solenoid Valves – Operation Alternatives
Electrically tripped – The valves move to the latched position when the solenoid is de-energised and trips when receiving a continuous or momentary (at least 0.3 seconds) electrical signal. When tripped, the ASCO 308 valve can be manually cycled open/closed, however they must be reset when the solenoid has been de-energised again.
No voltage release – Valves moved to the latched position when the solenoid has been energised trips when de-energised. When the valve has been tripped they can be manually cycled open/closed, however must be reset once the solenoid has been energised again.
Free handle – The valve is moved to the latch position when the solenoid is energised and trips when it becomes de-energised. They can not be manually cycled open/closed when de-energised. The valves can be manually cycled open/closed or reset only when energised.
ASCO SOLENOID VALVES – HAZARDOUS AREA LOCATIONS, safety & standards
ASCO solenoid valves (2-way, 3-way and 4-way type including NAMUR interfaces) control the critical flow of air, gas, water, oil and steam across all industries – hazardous area solenoid valves are available for Division and Zone classifications.
Class I, Division 2 and Zone 1/Zone 2 approved solenoid valves according to ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA and UL are available. Flameproof and explosion-proof valves can be specified for potentially explosive atmospheres where there is a presence of flammable liquids, gases or vapours.
ASCO valves improve reliability and performance of safety systems according to IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) – ASCO spool valves with SIL 4 capability are SAEL listed as assessed by Exida and TÜV.
