Easyheat SR Heat Trace Cable Installation

EasyHeat SR Heat Trace Cable Installation

Easyheat Self Regulating Cable

Electrical Solutions To Cold Weather Problems

EasyHeat SR heating cable provides an effective solution to cold weather related problems. From preventing pipes from freezing to removing ice build up in drains or gutter pipes, SR cable is engineered to alter its heat output as the surrounding temperature changes. As the the temperature gets colder the cable gets hotter.

SR heat trace cable is available in power densities of 3, 5 and 8 watts per foot, all heat trace cables are UL listed and can be supplied in 120 volt and 240 volt supply ratings.

The benefits of self regulated heat trace cable are that there is no wasted power as the cable automatically adjusts to the ambient temperature and as soon as that temperature has been reached, the cable powers-off meaning that only the exact amount of energy needed is ever used. SR cable is available in cut-to-length and pre-terminated kits making installation easier for cable installers.

An Introduction To EasyHeat AHB Electric Freeze Protection Cables

Self-Regulating Heat Trace Cable

How It Works

Easyheat Self Regulating Trace Heating Cable

EasyHeat Self Regulating Trace Heating Cable

EasyHeat SR heat trace cable is constructed from a special irradiated self-regulating core with a TPE inner jacket, copper ground braid with moisture and UV resistant over jacket. When the outside temperature drops, the cable core has many conductive paths that generate electric heat to keep the water flowing in the pipe.

As the surrounding temperature increases, there are fewer conductive paths and therefore less heat is generated meaning the trace heating cable uses the exact amount of energy needed.

As the cable is self-regulating, it can be wrapped over itself if required when installed on pipes, flanges or valves. Other key benefits of EasyHeat SR heat trace cable include:

    • specially designed Easyheat kits provide exactly what is required for installing SR trace heating cables. Included in each connection kit are instructions for connecting the cable to power supplies or other cables
    • cut to length design enables easy field sizing and installation of other cables

PIPE FREE PROTECTION USING EASYHEAT HEATING CABLES

EasyHeat self-regulating trace heating cables are an effective solution to cold weather and frost problems in both residential and commercial applications providing freeze protection to water pipework for all winter conditions down to -40°C.

Easyheat Heat Trace Cable Typical Product Applications

EasyHeat cables and accessories are typically used for frost protection, temperature maintenance and melting ice on roofs. Specially designed EasyHeat kits provide the correct hardware for properly installing SR trace self-regulating heating cables.

Each connection kit contains detailed instructions for connecting the cable to power supplies and other heating cables. There are many industries in which heat tracing cable is used and for many applications – the most common industries include petrochemical, oil and gas, refineries, pharmaceutical and power generation.

In applications, where pipes are exposed to cold temperatures such as petrochemical plants in colder climates, trace heating cable is commonly used to prevent liquid from freezing or to maintain viscosity.

Thermal insulation alone is incapable of preventing pipework freezing and therefore pipes must be heat traced to guarantee frost protection.

Gas Detectors

Crowcon gas detectors (portable and fixed) are suitable for applications in many industries and for detecting a wide variety of dangerous gases – protecting people and plant from gas risks (toxic and flammable) in both industrial and hazardous areas with IECEx and ATEX certification.

For over 40 years, Crowcon have been protecting infrastructure and saving lives by researching and manufacturing the most reliable and economical range of gas detection equipment and gas detection monitors.

Crowcon states its priorities as being market led, listening to customers and helping them achieve their aims striving to be a high quality organisation while Detecting Gas Saving Lives.

Crowcon Gas Detectors

Crowcon Gas Detectors (Fixed & Portable Gas Detection Equipment). Single and multigas gas detection monitors for all industries, including Zone 1 & Zone 2 hazardous areas with ATEX & IECEx Certification.

Crowcon GAS DETECTORS (PORTABLE & FIXED)

ATEX Gas Detectors

ATEX Gas Detectors

Crowcon gas detectors and detection equipment is available in fixed or portable type. Simply, fixed gas detectors protect plant; portable gas detectors protect people.

Gas detectors are used globally throughout many industries that regularly face the threat of hazardous gases – their range of gas monitors and devices can protect against leaks and the presence of toxic and flammable gases. There are many commonly occurring gases that can cause a threat to life and infrastructure if undetected including carbon dioxide, methane, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, copper sulphate and carbon monoxide.

These gases have varying effects on the human body where some are undetectable by humans as they are odourless and colourless, others can have devastating effects within seconds and must therefore be detected immediately.

By deploying portable or fixed gas detectors, companies can ensure the safety of their workforce, prevent unnecessary damage to their equipment and reduce any down time.

CROWCON T4 Portable Multi Gas Detector

Crowcon T4

T4 Gas Detector – enhanced protection and compliance to safety standards from a gas monitor which is highly cost-effective to adopt and to maintain

Crowcon T4 portable multigas detector provides effective protection against 4 common gas hazards:

  • Carbon monoxide
  • Hydrogen sulphide
  • Oxygen depletion
  • Flammable gases

With one-button operation and easy-to-use menus standard to all Crowcon gas detectors, T4 is simpler and safer to use with many features.

  • Positive Safety – visual ‘traffic light’ indication gives the user constant assurance, through a bright green Positive Safety LED, that the gas detection monitor is compliant and operating correctly. If it’s flashing red, your unit needs attention.
  • TWA Resume – unique to Crowcon T4, TWA Resume ensures worker exposure to toxic gases is correctly measured throughout a shift. When most portable gas detectors are turned off and on again, the TWA resets itself, assuming a new work shift is about to begin. TWA Resume provides the option to include previous measurements and ensure that gas exposure during your work shift continues to be assessed cumulatively.
  • Invertible screen – the backlit display can now be inverted 180 degrees to make gas readings easier to read whilst wearing the T4.

T4 gas detector is designed for use in industries such as the oil and gas sector, water and waste treatment facilities, utility companies and steel processing plants.
